Intel is starting to put its money where its mouth is, with major EUV investments. There are a lot of challenges, but Intel has a lot of money to throw at the problem. This is getting interesting.

iSuppli principal analyst Len Jelinek is the latest in a long line of forecasters who predicted the end of capital spending cycles. All those other guys were wrong, and I suspect Jelinek is, too. The fundamental cause of cycles, the lag time between capital investment and wafer output, rears its ugly head every time the lead time for equipment purchases jumps.
