Kildrummy Castle was started during the reign of Alexander II of Scotland (1214 - 49), and abandoned after the Jacobite defeat at Sherrifmuir in 1715. Located about 40 miles west of Aberdeen. Photo taken from the terrace of the nearby Kildrummy Castle Hotel.
